Over the past month I have bought two dresses from my new favorite online store, ModCloth. I rarely buy clothes off the Internet, but fortunately both of these pieces fit me like a glove. The first is a dress I plan to wear to my last Model United Nations conference. I have been on the hunt for an awesome lace dress for ages now, and I am very pleased with this one. The second is a party dress that I'll wear to homecoming....if I decide to go to homecoming. It was more expensive than the lace dress, but I justified buying it by telling myself that I can always wear it to formals/parties at college. I plan to wear black flats with this dress since it is way too short for heels, and I've found that black tights compliment it well.
P.S.- Dixie, I am SO sorry that I gave you that Sally Hensen nail art pen for Christmas a few years ago!! I bought two for myself recently, made a design on my nails, and was horrified to see the polish come off when I washed my hands!

Summer TV Show Favorites (Trixie)
Ever since I discovered Hulu, I have been able to watch some great cable television shows that I would otherwise miss. Here is some info on my four favorites!
1. Pretty Little Liars- As you probably know, I have been obsessed with this show for a long time. The characters' fashion is what makes the show so much fun to watch. I get style inspiration from Aria, the girl having an affair with her teacher (well technically he's not her teacher anymore), and Spencer, the wealthy girl whose brother-in-law tried to murder her last season. The first has a quirky taste while the latter wears more classic, designer pieces.
2. Switched at Birth- I like this show, but unfortunately I don't think it will last long because of its cheesiness. It is about two girls who were switched at birth, and one of them is deaf. I enjoy watching the show because it incorporates many truly deaf actors. It is interesting to watch completely silent scenes where the only dialogue is sign language. The emotion in the deaf characters' faces conveys their thoughts just as well as speech.
3. The Nine Lives of Chloe King- This show is about a girl who gains catlike (retractable claws, night vision, supernatural agility, etc.) powers on her 16th birthday. She discovers that she is part of an ancient half-human/half-god race called the Mi, and that she is her people's Uniter. I don't know what that means exactly yet, but I do know that it comes with the additional power of having nine lives. The girl, Chloe, also finds out that if a Mi kisses a human, the human will probably die. This creates a problem because she has just started to date this really nice guy named Brian. This show is a tad cheesy, but it's also fun and exciting.
4. Teen Wolf- I love this show. The primary reason why is its star, my future husband, Tyler Posey. I mentioned him in a post ages ago when he appeared in a Young Hollywood edition of Teen Vogue. The show is basically about a high school sophomore named Scott McCall (Posey) who gets attacked by a werewolf and thus becomes a werewolf himself. McCall is comparable to Peter Parker, Spiderman's alias. He's supposed to be kind of a loser, but the powers he gains as a werewolf enables him to become more popular by making him better at sports and giving him more confidence with girls. McCall discovers that he was bitten by this mysterious, evil werewolf called the Alpha because the Alpha wants McCall to be in his pack for some reason. I've heard some people say that Teen Wolf is a TV remake of Michael J. Fox's movie Teen Wolf but I can't really compare them since I've never seen the latter. All I can say is that the show is good. Every episode is filled with unexpected twists and Tyler's sidekick on the show (I don't know what his real name is but on the show his name is Styles) is hilarious.
Picture Notes.... Picture One- Spencer and Aria are in the middle, Picture Two- recognize someone from High School Musical?, Picture Three- I totally have that skirt!, Picture Four- Styles is on the far left

10 Things About NY
So, I have been doing some reading on what people felt they should know before they moved to New York and here are the top ten things. However, I found it funny that all 4 boroughs were mentioned except the one I will be living in: The Bronx.
1o things i should apparently know before i move to new york
1. it's dirty; flip flops are a no no
2. it's expensive
3. people aren't necessarily rude, just more of in a hurry
4. there is everything known to man to eat so there is no excuse to eat at a chain restaurant
5. pay to live in a more expensive neighborhood with a shoebox sized apartment rather than a crappy neighborhood with a nice apt: you will get mugged
6. don't wear heels in the meatpacking district
7. learn the subway system but also know, you better get there early
8. bring earphones or something to read for the subway
9. there are 5 boroughs in new york city to explore, not just Manhattan
10. walk on the left side of the street and stand on the right
Also, I was trying to find a new background for the blog but I kept coming up with stuff that didn't quite work.
Feel free to try to find a new background because I deleted the old one on accident!

I'm Finally Posting!! (Trixie)
Well, I thought it was about time to write a new post for the blog. I can't believe the Adventures of Trixie and Dixie is almost a year old! I received an Urban Outfitters gift card for my birthday, so I decided that I would post some of the items I'd like to buy (or wish I could buy) there with it! 1. I have discovered that I spend way too much money on clothes that are too dressy to wear to everyday activities, so I am striving buy more casual pieces like this top. I think this piece is great to wear during the summer because its stripes give it a nautical vibe. 2. Recently, I have become obsessed with wedges. I was so excited when I saw these on the Urban Outfitters website until I saw the price. 100 dollars...on sale. 3. I love the clothes Lea Michelle wears on Glee, and I believe these suspender-shorts are very Rachel Berry-esque.

Accccesssorriieessss!
So, it was definitely an interesting past couple of weeks. I had more luck with accessories this time around than clothes. The accessories below are from Chicago but I posted so pics I took in L.A. as well. The only thing I bought in L.A. was some shoes but I'll post them later with an outfit!
